Presenting the Frohisher Road petition

On Monday 12th April, David, along with Councillor Karen Alexander (Harringay Ward) and fellow Council candidate Chris Ford handed in their petition for a safe pedestrian crossing over Green Lanes at Frobisher Road.

In total, 475 signatures were obtained from residents and visitors from all over London. Thanks to this impressive show of support, the need for a safe crossing here will figure prominently in the review of road traffic which the Council is due to start later this year.

There is no safe crossing point for 200 metres in either direction, which means than many people taking their children to the primary school in Falkland Road have to choose between going well out of their way or braving the traffic.

According to David, "Traffic moves swiftly in this part of Green Lanes, and pedestrians have to keep a lookout in several directions at once. Over the years a number of people have been injured here, and indeed I myself once saw a 10-year-old girl and her grandfather knocked down by a driver turning out of Frobisher Road."
